Police: Man Wanted For Firing Multiple Gunshots Into Home Occupied By Children Found At Motel

A man who allegedly fired multiple shots into a Bridgeport home that was occupied by several children, one as young as 7 years old, was nabbed by police at a motel.

Randy Torres, 25, of Bridgeport, was arrested at the Motel 6 in Milford around 11:15 a.m., Monday, July 8, by members of the Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau's General Investigations Unit, Fugitive Task Force, Robbery/Burglary Unit, as well as the United States Marshals Service and Connecticut State Parole, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department.

Torres was responsible for allegedly firing multiple gunshots into a home that was occupied by several children at 125 Houston Ave. on Saturday, July 6, Jones said.

He also made threats to law enforcement, police said.

Torres was charged with multiple counts of criminal attempt of assault, risk of injury to a child, threatening and assault of two detectives during the arrest, and sale of narcotics, police said.

 He also had three active warrants from the Bridgeport Detective Bureau's Domestic Violence Unit.

Torres is being held on $350,000 bond.
